Where Is God?

Verse 1:

Where is God in tragedy
I’ve heard it prayed, I’ve heard it screamed
With clenched up fists and gritted teeth
Oh tell me where is God

Where is God when terror comes
When all seems lost in fires and floods
And sorrows get the best of us

Where is God when preachers preach
That he is all we’ll ever need
But right now He’s nowhere To be seen

But could it be he’s always heard
Every single desperate word
That we have cried out in our hurt

Could it be we somehow missed
He is right there in the brokenness
With bending heart and healing kiss

Could it be the miracle
That we’ve been pleading, begging for
Is standing right in front of us
He still comes in flesh in bone

The forgotten and the least
Show me anywhere that love’s poured out
